Early Intervention

IP is intended for clients aged between 0 and 6 years, with changes in body functions or structures that limit participation in typical activities for their age and social context or with a serious risk of developmental delay, as well as their families.

Its main objectives are to ensure that children have their rights protected and their capabilities developed through Early Childhood Intervention actions; to detect and flag all children at risk of changes or alterations in the functions and structures of the body or a serious risk of developmental delay; to intervene after detecting and flagging children according to the needs of the family context, in order to prevent or reduce the risks of developmental delay; to enhance, as far as possible, the autonomy and independence of children in carrying out daily life tasks such as dressing/undressing, cleanliness/hygiene, eating and handling school supplies, ensuring that personal development is as satisfactory and functional as possible.

Inclusion Resource Center

The general objective of the CRI is to provide responses to the special educational needs of students attending regular public schools, with significant limitations in terms of activity and participation, in one or more areas of life, resulting from permanent functional and structural changes. By facilitating access to education, training, work, leisure, social participation and independent living, promoting the maximum potential of each individual.

Leisure Activities Center

The Leisure Activities Center is intended to provide leisure activities for children with special educational needs, disabilities and/or incapacities and who attend Regular Education Schools in the urban area of Guarda.

The CATL aims to allow each child, through participation in group life, the opportunity to integrate into society; to create an environment conducive to the personal development of each child, so that they are able to situate themselves and express themselves in a climate of understanding, respect and acceptance of each person; to encourage the interconnection between family/school/community, contributing to the appreciation, use and profitability of all the resources in the environment; to provide children with experiences that take into account their individual pace and that allow them to build a dignified and cohesive life project; and also to promote the development of self-esteem and self-love, encouraging children to develop activities that aim to share tasks and responsibilities.

CERCIG's CATL has the following types: CATL for school interruptions and extended hours with lunch and CATL for school interruptions and extended hours without lunch.

Educational Valence

The general objective of the Educational Unit is to provide adequate support for the life projects of children and young people, aged between six and eighteen, with special educational needs, associated with individual conditions of disability that require, according to a psychopedagogical assessment, significant and extreme adaptations in an area of the common curriculum and for which it is considered that the level of adaptation and social integration in a regular school would be minimal, during the period of compulsory education.

Center for Activities and Training for Inclusion

CACI is a social response designed to develop activities for young people and adults with severe or profound disabilities, aiming at their personal and social integration and the development of their capabilities and/or professional development without being tied to demands of professional performance or regulatory framework of a legal-labor nature.

Vocational Rehabilitation Center

The CRP develops support and qualification activities for people with disabilities or impairments and its mission is to promote the training and professional qualification of people with disabilities or impairments in the region and their socio-economic integration into society.

Residential Home

The Residential Home is a facility for welcoming people with disabilities who are temporarily or permanently unable to live in their family environment.

The objectives of the Residential Home are:

  • Provide permanent or temporary residential accommodation and support;

  • Promote living and occupation conditions that contribute to well-being and quality of life suited to the specific needs of its recipients;

  • Promote strategies to reinforce self-esteem and personal and social autonomy;

  • Ensure stable conditions for recipients, reinforcing their autonomous capacity to organize daily life activities;

  • Provide support for school integration, occupational activity centers, professional training, sheltered employment or access to the normal job market;

  • Prioritize interaction with family and community, with a view to their respective social integration.

Autonomous Residence

The autonomous residence welcomes people with disabilities who, with support, are able to live independently.

Home Support Service

CERCIG's Home Support Service aims to provide personalized support to people and/or their families who, due to illness, disability or other impediment, are unable to ensure, temporarily or permanently, the satisfaction of their basic needs and/or daily life activities.
We are also equipped with the best equipment, technical resources and employees with experience in providing this service.
